Cara Delevingne: ‘I am very much in love’

Model/actress CARA DELEVINGNE has denied reports she has split from her singer girlfriend ST. VINCENT by declaring that she is “very much in love”.

Delevingne and the pop star, real name Annie Clark, have been linked since February (15), but recently speculation surfaced that the couple had called time on the romance.
The British model has been posting “sad” and cryptic quotes on Instagram.com, leading fans to believe that she was going through heartbreak, but she has since put a stop to the rumours by publicly mentioning her relationship for the first time.

She took to Twitter.com on Wednesday (22Apr15) and wrote, “I am very much in love.”
St. Vincent later retweeted the post.
The message comes days after Delevingne and St. Vincent attended the Burberry London event in Los Angeles together, marking their first outing as a couple.

5 Health Benefits of an Apple

How apples can make you skinnier and 4 more health benefits of apples.

My favorite thing about fall in Vermont is rambling through a nearby orchard, picking crisp, juicy apples and crunching into one, fresh off the tree.
Yet apples are so commonplace that they’re almost overlooked—pushed aside by flashier superfruits, such as pomegranates and goji berries.
But as a registered dietitian, I know that apples have surprising nutritional benefits that justify the “apple a day” adage. Here are some of apples’ nutritional boons

1. Benefit: Nutrition, straight up

Packing in quite a bit of soluble fiber (4 grams per medium apple) for a modest amount of calories (95) makes apples a filling, sweet snack. Plus, a medium apple counts as 1 cup of fruit, so after eating one you’re well on your way to meeting your daily fruit quota (around 2 cups for adults on a 2,000-calorie diet). They also are a good source of immune-boosting vitamin C (providing 14% of the Daily Value).

2. Weight Loss

Apples satisfy hunger for few calories so it’s not surprising that they can be part of a healthy diet that promotes weight loss. And in a recent study, driedapples also helped participants lose some weight. Women who ate a cup of dried apples daily for a year lost some weight and lowered their cholesterol and heart disease markers. Florida State University researchers think apples’ antioxidants and pectin (a type of fiber) are responsible for the benefits—and think that fresh apples would be even more effective.

3. Heart Health

The Florida State study is not the only one to link apple consumption to heart health. Last year, the Iowa Women’s Health Study reported that, among the 34,000-plus women it’s been tracking for nearly 20 years, apples were associated with a lower risk of death from both coronary heart disease and cardiovascular disease. Some years earlier, Finnish researchers studying dietary data collected over 28 years from 9,208 men and women found that frequent apple eaters had the lowest risk of suffering strokes compared with nonapple eaters. Experts attribute the heart-healthy benefits to antioxidant compounds found in apples, which help prevent LDL cholesterol from oxidizing and inhibit inflammation. Plus, the soluble fiber in apples has also been shown to lower cholesterol levels.

4. Protect Against Metabolic Syndrome

People who eat apples may be less likely to suffer from metabolic syndrome, a cluster of symptoms linked to an increased risk of heart disease and diabetes. Joyce Hendley reported in EatingWellMagazine that researchers who analyzed National Health and Nutrition Examination Study (NHANES) data, a survey of eating and health habits, found that people who had eaten apples in any form over the past day were 27 percent less likely to have symptoms of metabolic syndrome than those who didn’t. The apple eaters also had lower levels of C-reactive protein, a marker of inflammation whose presence in the blood suggests an increased risk for heart disease and diabetes.

5. Exercise Extender

Eating an apple before you work out may boost your exercise endurance. Apples deliver an antioxidant called quercetin, which aids endurance by making oxygen more available to the lungs. One study showed that quercetin—when taken in supplement form—helped people bike longer.

The Cast of ‘The Nanny': Where Are They Now?

Fran's been keeping busy since playing the "flashy girl from Flushing" with the nasally voice. From 2011 to 2013, she produced and starred in the TV Land show Happily Divorced. And last year, she starred in Broadway's Cinderella as the evil stepmother, opposite Carly Rae Jepsen. She's since joined the touring company of the musical, and last month the show made its L.A. debut. Some of her Nanny cast mates even showed up to support her.

Charles Shaughnessy (Maxwell Sheffield)

What is MISTAH SHEFFIELD up to now? A myriad of TV appearances, that’s what! He had a multi-episode arc on Mad Men during the show’s third season. (He was the “Powell” of British ad agency Putnam, Powell and Lowe.) He’s also made guest appearances on Happily Divorced, Castle and Revenge.

Daniel Davis (Niles)

No one could deliver an insult quite like Niles! And our mind is still blown that Daniel Davis isn’t actually British. His work since The Nanny has been intermittent. He appeared briefly in 2006’s The Prestige, and guest-starred on an episode Ugly Betty. He’s also done some stage work.

Lauren Lane (C.C. Babcock)

Lauren, who played C.C. Babcock, has stuck mostly to theater work since ending her stint on The Nanny. She appeared on stage in productions of August: Osage County, God of Carnage and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike

Nicholle Tom (Maggie Sheffield)

As the eldest daughter of the Sheffield clan, Maggie, Nicholle went from awkward teen to self-assured adult on the show. Since the show ended, she’s guest-starred on a slew of other TV shows, including Criminals Minds, Castle, Masters of Sex and – most recently – Gotham.

Top 5 Weird and Most Amazing Places on Earth

The world we live in was created not only for man but for all living things.

Life exists everywhere and it is full of beautiful places and overwhelming with the wonders of nature. However, city life and modernization gives us limitations, but if you would dare to explore you will find that wherever you go you are surrounded with marvels this planet has to offer.

What lies and goes beyond seas, oceans, mountains and valleys remain a mystery, and there is always something new to discover such as these weird yet awesome places on earth:

5. The Bermuda Triangle

Weird as it seems, this has captured the interest of many and has been referred to as the “devil’s triangle” for the reason that any ship or plane that may enter this triangle vanishes into this air.

Massive ships and huge air planes have disappeared into nothingness and to date, no one has discovered why. It remains a mystery to people and scientists.
The three points covered by the triangle corresponds to three places namely Bermuda, Florida and Puerto Rico.

The term Bermuda Triangle was noted by Vincent Gaddis way back in 1964. Since then, researchers have been digging deep trying to find answers as to what exactly occurs within this queer and puzzling triangle and what really makes things and people vanish.

It is thought by some that there are probably unexpected problems in navigation experienced in the air which confuses the pilot that’s why the plane eventually ends up landing in the ocean. This is one mystery that is yet to be solved, where people and scientists are both hopeful and eager to be enlightened but for now, nobody dares to go to this place anymore because it would mean calling out to death!

4. Pamukkale (Turkey)

Another weird place in this planet is the popular Travertine Pools. These earthy and beautiful, breathtaking pools are bizarre in a way that no one can actually tell or explain how it has been formed.

Story tells that around thousands of years ago, Turkey, where this place is situated, was faced and shattered with earthquakes, one after the other.

The occurrences brought about the formation of fractures which created hot springs. It showered the place with overflowing amounts of water that was infused with calcium carbonate. Once the water ran dry and evaporated, it left a chalky stuff which got thicker and formed massive layers of this thick substance which then turned into walls.

Pamukkale is one of the rarest places you will ever see which looks like milk from a distance. Quite a number of tourists visit this place but is now closed b=down by UNESCO to preserve it.

3. Suqatra Island (Yemen)

This place is believed to be the lost world since it is positioned away and off coast of Yemen. It’s a perfect picture of a weird yet heavenly world, which will make you genuinely happy just by reveling in its beauty. Filled with natural aura and environment, it serves as one great vacation spot that you must visit for a one of a kind and unforgettable experience of a lifetime. You will be rejuvinated and feel full of life upon witnessing this small, simple yet magnificent island which is also called Socota. Fact is, it is a chunk of land that was isolated from the world around 6 million years back in time and houses an estimated 900 species of weird and unusual plants unlike anything else on earth.

Here you will find the most popular tree- Dragon’s Blood which is utilized in crystal production. One other plant is the Desert Rose, or more popular as the Elephant’s Leg which has very distinctive qualities that stands out from the rest.

Jay Z’s Tidal hailed a flop

JAY Z’s music streaming service Tidal has been deemed a spectacular flop after sinking out of the iTunes top 700 app chart less than a month after its launch.

The rapper staged a high-profile unveiling for the company last month (Mar15) after buying the brand for around $56 million (£35 million), enlisting the help of stars including his wife Beyonce, Madonna, Rihanna, and Alicia Keys.

However, the huge promotional push has failed to give Tidal the boost it needed. New figures show that Tidal surged to the top 20 in the iTunes download chart after the launch, but subsequently crashed out of the top 700, leaving rivals Spotify and Pandora holding strong in the top five.

The news comes after a wave of criticism from fans and artists, including folk group Mumford & Sons and British pop star Lily Allen, who fears the company’s high subscription fees and lack of a free service, which is provided by rival Spotify, could drive music-lovers back to illegal downloads.

Jay Z was also accused of designing the service to line the pockets of super-rich artists instead of focusing on the needs of fans, but he defended Tidal by insisting it also provides more money for the writers and producers behind hit tracks.

6 Tips to Enhance Mind-Muscle Connection and Maximize Fitness

Fitness is more than just toning the muscles or building an impressive physique. It’s essential to achieve a strong mind-muscle connection in order to maximize your training. In fact, a study conducted by the Cleveland Clinic Foundation found that you could gain more power by combining mind and muscle connection.
The science behind this is simple: when your mind and body work together, you are more motivated to stay fit. Focusing your energies on the stretching and contracting muscles on an almost meditative level will give you the best results. In today’s post, we are giving you tips on how can enhance mind-body connection when working out:

1. Controlling the Heart Rate Through Breathing

The first step in strengthening the mind-body connection is through breathing. This is a biological way to control the heart rate. Pressure increases the heart rate and pro athletes control their heartbeat through measured breathing. To control the heart rate when working out, breathe in for six seconds, hold your breath for a couple of seconds then breathe out for seven seconds.

2. Mindful Exercising

Research shows that visualizing the muscle activity alone can improve muscle activity by as much as 10%! So don’t just perform an exercise without checking to see if you achieved the right form. By exercising mindfully, you will target major muscle groups more effectively. This makes your workout more efficient, you don’t waste time and effort at all. Targeted workout will also lead to more fitness gains. Don’t let gravity do all the iron pumping for you. Pay close attention to the contractions of your muscles, focus on slow, deliberate movement and feel the tension.

3. Practice Visualizations

Powerful imagery can improve performance by up to 35%. This, according to a research conducted on participants who practice visualization on a 12-week workout. Participants performed visualization on both workout and non-workout times. After the study, those who practiced visualization improved their strength from 13.5% to 35%!
When the brain focuses on an image – say visualizing toned biceps – it sends a message to the corresponding muscle to increase in mass. And these muscles tone up regardless if you don’t train it that often. When you practice visualization and combine it with training, you will surprise yourself with the amazing result.

4. Remove all Distractions

To achieve better mind-muscle connection, you have to remove yourself from everyday concerns that keep you from focusing on your mental and physical self. That means not thinking about work, TV, food and petty concerns and focusing on what you hope to achieve for the day. This disconnection from everyday anxiety does not apply to fitness alone. You can practice this to re-focus your mind when you are too overwhelmed.

5. Meditation

Find the quietest spot in your home. Sit comfortably and affirm your intentions. Close your eyes, remove all distractions in your mind and breathe deeply. Meditate on your fitness goal or any goals you have to eliminate anxiety. Bask in the quietness for five to ten minutes every day to improve mental focus.

6. Flex Your Muscles

Flexing stretches and strengthens the muscle tissues. Stand in front of your mirror and start flexing certain muscles. Contract the muscles one at a time in slow, deliberate movement. This will help you achieve a sculpted form and improve muscle control when you exercise.
